At Rātā Street we are proud to be a large multicultural school, teaching Years 0-6 (5 to 11 years), in the heart of Naenae. We have around 315 students and encourage each and every one of them to do their very best by striving for excellence, seizing opportunities and by valuing themselves and each other. We are a caring and supportive learning community and one that thrives!
Our Vision ‘Learning together to achieve excellence’ guides everything that we do. We are driven to inspire a love of learning in all children and we do this by ensuring that learning programmes meet their social, emotional, physical, cultural and academic needs. Considerable emphasis is placed on the key learning areas of reading, writing and mathematics, as a firm foundation in these core subjects allows students to do well in every area of the curriculum and in life.
Our core values were developed with input from students, teachers and whānau. They help to shape our school culture and are an important part of our learning programme and beyond, as they support the personal and social development of our students. They are:
We offer a wide and varied curriculum providing a range of learning experiences and opportunities for students, taught by enthusiastic and talented staff. We pride ourselves on doing the very best that we can for all of our students, all of the time.
Rātā Street is a team: the Board, staff, children, parents/caregivers and whānau - working together to give our children the best learning environment possible to encourage the development of the whole person, involved in every aspect of school life.

Our school values its partnership with the community. We recognise that whānau play a huge part in their children's learning - and that, by working together, we can enhance student learning and development. We have an open door policy and want you to feel welcome.
